About Seiji Ito (伊藤 成二 · 甚秋)
Seiji Ito, known by the pottery name Jinshu (甚秋), is a Tokoname ceramic craftsperson and second-generation representative of Jinshu Tōen. Japanese craft and gallery sources associate his practice with kyusu teapots, tea ware and flower vessels.
His work reflects Tokoname’s enduring focus on practical yet carefully considered tea vessels. Great Zakka carries teapots attributed to Ito, including pieces described as red-clay and mogake styles.
