Japanese sauce plates — known as tare-zara (たれ皿) or ko-zara (小皿) — are some of the most versatile pieces in Japanese tableware. Small enough to sit beside a main dish, beautiful enough to elevate any table setting, and practical for everything from soy sauce and sushi to appetizers, condiments, and even jewelry or accessories.

At Great Zakka, our small dishes collection spans a wide range of authentic Japanese ceramic styles — hand-painted Kutani porcelain, classic indigo-blue Hasami ware, rustic Mino stoneware, and delicate Arita porcelain. Many pieces come in sets of five, following the Japanese tradition of odd-numbered tableware sets.
