This handcrafted Mino Ware Matcha Bowl perfectly blends ancient Japanese pottery traditions with modern aesthetics. Each piece is meticulously made by artisans in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, showcasing the unique charm of Mino Yaki. As an authentic Japanese teacup and ceramic bowl, it is not only ideal for preparing and enjoying matcha, but also a truly special piece of Japanese handmade pottery to collect.
The design of this traditional Chawan beautifully embodies the spirit of wabi-sabi. It features a distinct white glazed exterior that contrasts harmoniously with the subtle gray tones inside the bowl. This two-tone ceramic bowl feels substantial and balanced in your hands, with a smooth rim that adds a sense of tranquility to your tea ceremony. More than just a matcha bowl, it can also serve as a unique dessert bowl or snack bowl, making it an excellent choice for anyone who appreciates Japanese aesthetics or is looking for a unique Japanese gift.
To enjoy a perfect bowl of matcha, we recommend using this bowl with a matcha whisk. Simply add 1-2 scoops of matcha powder to the bowl, pour in about 70ml of hot water (not boiling), and whisk in a quick 'M' or 'W' motion until a smooth, frothy layer forms on top. The wide base of this bowl is designed for easy whisking.
