Bring understated Japanese craftsmanship to your tea ritual with this black rear-handle teapot from Sekiryū Tōen (石龍陶苑 / 石龍窯), a three-generation pottery kiln in Tokoname, Aichi Prefecture. This color variation of the red clay rear-handle model features the same compact form and pine-bark-inspired Matsukawa (松皮) texture, here paired with a deep black finish.
Its rounded body, textured surface, and distinctive rear handle make a refined choice for serving small portions of loose-leaf Japanese tea. The 200 mL capacity is ideal for a personal tea moment or intimate tea service.
Sekiryū Tōen is a multigenerational Tokoname pottery studio. Natsue Uemura (上村夏江) is the kiln's third-generation successor, continuing a family tradition of Japanese tea ware. This teapot is attributed to the kiln; individual authorship has not been separately verified.
Hand wash gently after use and allow to dry completely. Avoid sudden temperature changes and abrasive cleaners. Dishwasher and microwave compatibility have not been verified.
