Created by Tokoname ceramic artist Seihō (青峰), this refined Japanese kyusu pairs an earthy yakishime (焼締, high-fired unglazed) surface with delicate butterfly and cherry blossom decoration. Its rounded silhouette and expertly fitted inrō-buta (印籠蓋) lid lend the teapot a quiet, sculptural elegance.
The rear handle is comfortable for right- or left-handed pouring, and a built-in ceramic sasame (ささめ) strainer makes this artistic teapot practical for brewing loose-leaf Japanese tea for two to three people.
Seihō (青峰) is a respected Tokoname potter associated with distinctive, finely finished teaware. The fitted lid, subtle fired-clay character and graceful seasonal motifs exemplify the care that makes Japanese artisan kyusu both beautiful and functional.
Hand wash gently soon after use and dry thoroughly. Avoid detergents with strong fragrances, abrasives, dishwashers, microwaves and sudden temperature changes.
